Overview
The position will be responsible for preparing ingredients, seasoning meats, taking inventory, overseeing deliveries, organizing and basic cleaning in the kitchen, communicating with the chef and supervisor, and ensuring proper presentation of food as directed by the chef de partie.
Job Responsibilities:
• Monitors kitchen equipment and reports issues to superiors.
• Continuously develops culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals.
• Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings.
• Washes, chops, and cuts fruit, meat, and vegetable items
• Assesses inventory and requests resupply when necessary.
• Plates meal items under the chef de partie supervision
• Disposes of spoiled items and adheres to sanitation policies.
• Assisting in the food preparation process
• Cooking and preparing elements of high-quality dishes
• Assisting other Chefs
• Understand and adhere to all CORE’s policies, including but not limited to CORE Code of Conduct
Experiences & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred.
- 1 year of work experience in a similar role
- Associate degree, diploma, or certification in culinary arts is advantageous.
- Excellent hygiene standards.
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and listening skills.
