Overview
Manage the Governance and Compliance to enhance the control environment and promote a robust compliance culture. Support the Executive Leadership in defining and implementing the Governance and Compliance strategy, including a detailed implementation roadmap, and effectively communicate any identified risks or shortcomings. Ensure that all functions/business units operate with integrity and ethics. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, delegation of authority, and governmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CORE's corporate governance framework, including reviewing policies and procedures, to ensure alignment with leading standards and regulations.
- Establish and develop overall compliance framework, scope, and context including Policies and Procedures, and all applicable regulatory requirements/regulations to ensure that CORE’s Compliance Management System is in line with leading standards and regulations.
- Promote Governance and Compliance awareness through regular live sessions for operational staff at CORE, enhancing organizational understanding and practice.
- Assist Executive Leadership in managing regulatory incidents and other ad-hoc investigations to ensure effective responses.
- Systematically review regulations with stakeholders from various departments to ensure comprehensive identification of all regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate discussions with Executive Leadership and Senior Management about potential risks of losses or noncompliance.
- Organize and lead regular compliance assessment workshops to manage and monitor regulatory compliance effectively.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of governance and compliance processes, escalating issues to Executive Leadership as necessary.
- Lead the development of strategies to close gaps in governance and compliance, in collaboration with Department Heads.
- Secure Senior Management approval for compliance and governance plans as needed.
- Draft initial governance and compliance reports for Executive Leadership review, incorporating feedback where applicable.
- Regularly update the compliance register and governance documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Oversee Governance and Compliance across departments, supporting functions in compliance requirement identification, control adherence, and training arrangements.
- Stay informed about developments in governance regulations and methodologies, and actively promote a culture of governance and compliance across all business units.
Experiences & Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or Compliance.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in governance, risk management, and compliance.
- 4 years of leadership or managerial experience in a governance and compliance role.
- Professional certification in governance, risk management, or compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance Officer, Certified Risk Analyst) is highly desirable.
