Overview

The PR & Communications Specialist join our team to help shape and maintain our public image. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with strong communication skills who can manage media relations, write compelling content, and help drive brand awareness through various channels. The ideal candidate will have experience in public relations, media outreach, content creation, and digital communications, and will play a key role in building and nurturing relationships with external stakeholders, including journalists, influencers, and industry leaders.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

Media Relations & Press Outreach

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other media contacts to secure positive media coverage and opportunities.
  • Proactively pitch story ideas, press releases, and media alerts to relevant outlets to increase brand visibility.
  • Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews, quotes, and information requests from journalists.
  • Track media coverage, analyzing press mentions, and report on the impact and effectiveness of PR efforts.

Content Creation & Messaging

  • Write clear, persuasive, and engaging press releases, media statements, speeches, articles, blog posts, and other communication materials.
  • Develop content for social media platforms, email newsletters, and internal communications to align with PR campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, leadership) to create messaging that supports business objectives and enhances brand positioning.
  • Ensure that all communications are consistent with the company’s voice, tone, and brand guidelines.

Event Planning & Management

  • Assist in the planning and execution of corporate events, press conferences, product launches, media briefings, and other promotional activities.
  • Coordinate event logistics, media attendance, and guest lists.
  • Manage post-event follow-up, including media coverage, attendee feedback, and social media engagement.

Internal Communications

  • Work closely with HR and leadership teams to manage internal communications, including company updates, newsletters, and announcements.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external messaging, maintaining a consistent company narrative across all platforms.

Crisis Communications

  • Assist in developing and implementing crisis communication strategies, ensuring swift, accurate, and consistent messaging during challenging situations.
  • Monitor media and social media for any potential issues or negative publicity and help manage the company’s response.

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Collaborate with the social media team to ensure PR and media coverage are promoted effectively across social media channels.
  • Support the creation and management of digital content, including blog posts, articles, and email campaigns.
  • Monitor social media platforms and digital conversations, and help identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and report on the success of PR campaigns, including media coverage, social media engagement, website traffic, and audience sentiment.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of media coverage, upcoming PR activities, and campaign performance.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations, preferably within the Premium Hospitality, Luxury Retail, or High-Net-Worth Services
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and building relationships with journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders
  • Proficient in PR tools and media monitoring software (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, PR Newswire)
  • Experience managing social media accounts, creating content, and measuring digital PR effectiveness.
